Today has been the fabulous day of summer I remember from yore, with Sydney glistening in all its glory. The harbour has the most immense cruise ship at berth and the people are out in hordes in the very warm but not unpleasant day.
I saw advertised at the Dendy Cinema, my favourite one in Sydney, situated on Circular Key under Paul Keating's Greek Columns, a repeat of a great movie. I have caught it for the second time I discovered half-way through, although I suspected it from the start, Michael Keaton's award winning role in 'Birdman' which certainly was evocative of Broadway Showtime, and was an amazingly good movie. It is few years old now and seeing it on retrospective they only charged $7 entry. There were only half a dozen in the cinema and it was well worth the visit. I am sure it is now a cult movie.
As the day is young I am now having a luscious quinoa salad at the MCA café before I go to see Grayson Perry's doubtless excellent exhibition of Ceramics and Art. It is the most comprehensive collection of his work ever curated since he started exhibiting in the eighties, which was in London after I had left, so I am not really aware of his work, except that he is a transvestite and celebrates the diversity of this role in his very interesting life.
