Still looking...and Diwali tonight

Tomorrow Niki comes to see the front room and I am hoping she will be a goer as it is a difficult time to find people. However I must keep up morale as things are not that bad. These people here in their damp house in Porirua show how bad the cold and damp conditions can be in Wellington with no central heating here which is ridiculous, but that's the way it is, they were just so stoic in the olden days and didn't have anything more that a log fire.
Maori family with problems..

..all the kids are sick

Aung San Suu Kyiwins the elections but will she really have power under the military?

Brett Lee a movie star!

'Thin Ice'kiwi doco about climate change worth seeing I'm sure when it comes out in time for the Summit in Paris.

Below the  drug-clean Usain Bolt, and drug scammer Gatlan who is sponsored by Nike!
Again, with Reason, the web of corruption goes to the top in sport with Lord Sebastian Coe being included this time when he was Chair, as the London Olympics conveniently hushed up the Russian drug scandal.  All is corrupt it seems, and Mark Reason warns international Rugby to take care with  its sponsors, like Nike and others.

Tonight the Hindu faith celebrates Diwali at the home of Pushpa and Jack, and I am going as ECK representative. Scottish Dancing is finished for the year unless I go to another end-of-year dance somewhere. But really, things are slowly getting into Chrstmas shut-down mode. I may well have to court the Backpackers' hostel to find a lodger over the holiday period. So be it, I will do that.

To confirm my decision I have just texted Maisie in Melbourne with my news, she may, or may not, be surprised, as she was always happy about my return to OZ.

This fabuloustrio, vola d'amore, guitar and cello, played a lunchtime concert today which I caught at St Andrew's on the Terrace. Played some Bach and particularly two Canzonettas by Douglas Lilburn, the fabled Kiw composer whose 100th birthday was this year.  It was beautiful and uplifting music at a cost of just a 'koha'. These regular concerts are one of the great musical benefits of living in Wellington.
