Sad Saturday

RMemphis on Saturday morning, abuzz with more seekers of caffeine than at an All Blacks footy match.
Headline bad news of Rugby Legend Samoan Jerry Collins killed with his wife in bad car accident in France. A big hero here, he takes all of page one as the culture is of sport, first and foremost in NZ.
Tragic swerving car...

One sort of Memphis customer....

Lawyer dies with no law change... At least the discussion is started about help with terminally ill people to die. It must come into Parliamentary debate very soon. This talented woman had a brain tumour and died before her work was recognised.

Olympian Bruce Jenner becomes a woman on cover of Vanity FairTrans is all over the news these days, good for my mob over here, I think?

Aussie giant David Jones takes over Kirks!and I am about to leave, boo-hoo, I love David Jones and they will be great in the place or Kirks. I wonder if I'll come back sooner than expected.

Waiheke Island rich people with problems

...another sort of customer at Memphis..ladies of my age who wear bright coloured French berets!

Saw this amazing film today at the Paramount, really a great Russian film of today's awful Putin legacy. Beautifully acted, with the four main characters so sympathetically drawn and played it was an enormous illustration of the futility of war. Great movie, a must-see, if you like films of punch and sensitivity. Five stars
