Oxford in all its glory

It is another lovely day in Piddington and we are going driving to visit some of John's family. Lydia is back to London and leaving us with Havana so life will be lively as she can be a little wild child.

At Iiffey locks on the Thames

We went to visit John's sister Jenny in Oxford and took the opportunity after lunch at the Prince of Wales Hotel to take a walk along the banks of the Thames where the barges were negotiating the
locks at Iliffy.  They were a delight and we chatted to some of those who were holidaying on them. A couple said they had taken off three years to rent their house in order to live on the Thames.

All Souls College Quadrangle

Later we took a tour around this wonderful university city and John pointed out many of the famous colleges one constantly reads about in novels and history. What a beautiful and stimulating city this is!
