Italian film festival

Friday with no news headlines in the Dom Post but spitting on police causing disease...this is really showing a little too clearly the importance of this capital city .....I don't think. Especially when
coupled with the mind boggling news of 'children's strength' toothpaste causing decay, parents are outraged!
This is more fun at Memphis, coffee-bag hats with Baxter and Dave.
Below the Play at Bats Theatre I must see next week, called  'Vultures' it is part of the Maori Theatre Festival fortnight, a great review is given here.
The contemplative Guy tells me he is dropping creative writing and taking up Russian...good luck Guy!
Maria Sharapove, not my favourite tennis champion, gets her just deserts, a two year suspension.
Down to city library to see some characters and read some books. A new reserved book is waiting for me called 'Traitor' by ex-pat Kiwi writer Stephen Daisley who wrote his first novel about a Gallipoli friendship, I can't wait to get into it.
Some life studies at the city library....he is devouring a comic book.
...and he is some needing sleep

Tonight I saw an excellent first of the Italian Film Festival at Cuba Lighthouse. A touching indie style Italy/Slovenia  coproduction, very good quality of a non-star variety about the epiphany of a ne'r-do well in the Italian provinces. Top movie, great acting and direction!
