No interviews...?

Friday comes and all room prospects are invisible. That's how it is sometimes, others will appear when the room is ready, which is not till Monday anyway. So I go into Memphis and the window washer is on the job, these are important windows as you see the world of Wellington through their clean spaces.
..and the world comes to Memphis, except for my prospective tenants that is!
Below is the reason Wellington is in a static situation. A little like Hobart where to get something done is a monumental achievement. Best just to leave it lie quietly, is the received wisdom. But Wellington needs change.
And here is the sad tale of being scalped on Ticketmaster...you can't trust the internet sales pitch unless you read carefully the small print.
Some Kiwi heroes abound....
...but there are some with more money than brains it appears from this sports car scam!
My Magic Flute opera from last night, a great performance by Papageno, but I agree, it would have been better sung in German.
Jodie Foster has made another movie worth seeing, she is an amazing 53 year old 'out' lesbian prodigy.
Am taking time to rest before the HU song and have a big Chai latte at Maccas in Newtown. There is always something weird going on here and I often see the obese results of over eating junkfood.

Later tonight I am seeing 'Le Conformiste' by Bertolucci at the Cuba Lighthouse. It will be a blast from the past, 1971 in Paris where I first saw it.

Also I have just made three more appointments for interviews for the room over the long Queen's Birthday weekend. Willi someone be right? I hope so, as I have learned to be a bit more choosey by now. The main one is at CafĂ© Baobab tomorrow and sounds promising, the other two are now cancelled, the boys are too big!

Just back from The Conformist, and what a wonderfully shot intelligent movie about the evils of fascism in Italy and great performances from Trintingnant and also the beautiful Dominique Sanda. A great revisit of a restored forty-five year old movie.
