Toastmasters Day

Early at Memphis today, the weather a little cooler, only 23 degrees, which is a sight less than Aussie summer days anyway. But this summer in Wellington has the newspapers saying that we are having a Hawaiian summer, with the locals staying at home to enjoy the sun. It is much hotter than last year and we are having weekly periods without wind and rain which is extraordinary.

Here is a group of young people enjoying the sun on Oriental Bay beach, made by man btw!

The cricket feud between the Aussies and Kiwis is erupting. Next weekend will be the culmination at Basin Reserve which I will very unfortunately miss, being in Auckland for the Swim-meet. The Black Caps are the hot favourites but the Aussies will be hungry for revenge after losing the One Day Only series 2-1.

Cool clientèle at the Memphis bar...

The Black/white relations in the US is at a stretching point with the power of Black ShowBiz flexing its muscles, or in this case her muscles. For centuries the Blacks have been murdered by the Whites but now, when a white policeman shoots a black boy, the country reacts, understandably. The times, they are a'changin....

Russia, and President Putin, is nearly going beyond belief with its efforts to control its interests in the Ukraine and elsewhere, and continue the near-genocide in Syria. Turkey is overfull, Mekel is changing her tune about accepting refugees, and hopefully Putin will be taken to court one day for War Crimes...I wonder? He is now reportedly the richest man in the world, wealth derived from his corrupt business dealings having learned the trade when in the KGB. Will he ever get his come-uppance?

Interesting facts of very intelligent bird life creating bush fires in Australia. Animals are sometimes far more intelligent than humans, who are often thwarted by ego and emotions.

Great hour at TM today, I had to do a Table Topic about agreeing with the Finland idea of giving a gift pack to all homegoing new mothers. The quality there is excellent and hopefully I will improve too.

Back tonight at SCD, good class and some nice new members.
