Hospital, and Dentist day..

Looks a bit rough this title, but really it is OK! I am off early to the Wellington Hospital to witness a presentation, and  perhaps perform a waiata for the Year Four Medical students who are presenting  a final talk of their takataapui project. This will be followed by a kai  and all will be hunky dory.
The dentist however, is a long awaited extraction, and I am hoping with my new dentist she will do a great job. Here's hoping.

A large earthquake has hit Chile and has sent waves across the Pacific so our waters are windy and rough. Not much difference really from the everyday weather!!
This is a worrying NZ trait, low maintenance on trains!with accidents resulting.

Neil Finn, Kiwi singing composer legend...to come home for one night only!

The weight of New Zealand is on his broad shoulders

Am in hospital café recovering....not from an illness, but from the extremely successful presentation of the Year Four Medial students' project on Takataapui which ended in a wonderful kai for everyone and a catch-up for me with Margaret Sparrow who will be also dancing at Tawa tomorrow night at the Scottish Dance.

It was such an impressive morning's presentation, with these amazing students skills of presenting the hitherto unknown situation of the Takataapui in society and their relationship with the medical profession, especially with GPs. Groundbreaking in content, and international in viewpoint, it is a pilot research program which could be an example for all othe countries in the world to emulate.

Congratulations to the University of Otago, and its great team of fifteen students. These courageous, intelligent people will doubtless be impressive community leaders in the future.
